Made by Fairchild Aviation Company of New York, New York. Case for you here along with other materials of the time. This was part of their war effort contribution.
Cannot say if this case was actually used during the war, or was a surplus item. The case is made of a mahogany wood. Some slight loss of finish and scratching to the case. The top is securely attached to the base of the case by the two hinges. The locking latches are still in place on the front of the case. A black felt lines the inside of the top of the case. One of the sighting lenses has the glass lens broken on one end.Other side of sighting piece, the glass lens is intact. One of the rubber caps over a sighting lens had deteriorated from age, not all there, see pic. The battery pack has a nickel plated finish on it. Some corrosion to this case in places. What you see is what you get.
Not sure if the case and other materials, or any accessories are all here or not. The A-10 Sextant in case is 9.25" across, by 5-5/8" tall, by 9-1/16 wide.
