WWII Era USAAF Army Air Force Type A-98OD Green Cloth Flying Helmet w/Leather Cup Chin Strap - Size Medium - Contract Dated 1942 - Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is a set of WWII Era USAAF Army Air Force Type A-8 OD Green Cloth Flying Helmet. This is the early version with the removable leather "cup style" chin strap. Still has the original chin strap. It has the hooks and straps on the rear for the oxygen mask and communication gear.

The helmet has the added suede and leather pockets for radio receivers. The tag shows it is contract dated 1942. The tag shows a size Medium. There is a faint AAF logo on the side of the helmet. The helmet is used, please see photo's for condition.

No rips or tears, there are a couple thinning areas in the cloth material, see photos. These are somewhat rare with the removable chin strap and modified for the radio receivers.
