Beautifully pieced and stitched Army Air Corp/Air Force flag/banner. This flag measures: 11.5 X 9.5. It has two strings that hang from each side to attach this flag to whatever type pole/rod/window it was placed on. I have taken pictures of the back and the front so you can see the different sizes/placement and stitching of the propeller with wings (symbol) you can tell they were cut, placed and the stitched on (appears to be handmade). In my opinion the flag appears in great shape for its age: no holes or tears.

One of the strings has a metal piece on the end but one string does not. This item comes from a smoke free/pet free home. Please see all pics for details.

MY RESEARCH: This is the insignia of an Aviation Cadet. THE CREATION OF THE U. ARMY AIR FORCE CADET PROGRAM: WW2: by the early 1940s, however, the Army Air Corps faced another war and was again short of flyers. In June 1941, Congress created the grade of aviation cadet, and the Army launched a massive flight-training program.

Within two years, its annual output would soar to more than 65,700 pilots. The United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) was the military aviation arm of the United States of America between 1926 and 1941. After World War I, early aviation became an increasingly important part of modern warfare. The Air Corps became the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) on 20 June 1941, giving it greater autonomy from the Army's middle-level command structure. During World War II the Air Corps (AC) remained as one of the combat arms of the Army until 1947, when it was legally abolished by legislation establishing the Department of the Air Force.
