WWII US AAF Army Air Force Mae West Inflatable Life Preserver Vest Type LP-31

WWII Era US Army Air Force AAF Pilot Mae West Life Preserver Vest Type LP-31 - Nice Condition. This is an early inflatable vest that was used by AAF Pilots and Flight Crewmen During WWII. It was designed to be inflated by a CO2 cartridge or it can be manually inflated by the mouth inflation tube. The CO2 inflation mechanism is still present, there is a CO2 cartridges in the mechanism.

The vest is flexible, not stiff and cracking. It has all the straps. It has the manual inflator, but the mouth tube is no longer present. It is used, see photo's for condition.

There are no visible markings or dates on the vest. This would make a great accessory to add to your US Army Air Force Collection.
