O riginal/Vintage WWII AAF IMPERIAL Folding Survival Machete, Type A-1 Cole III, U. Military Knives, Bayonets, Machetes, pg. 2 was adopted 1942 for B4 Bail Out Kit , usually attached to the parachute harness. Machete will appear unused except for loss of blade Parkerization and a few minor ageing mars. Deployed machete approximates: blade 10; OAL 17.

Machete blade with rounded end originally partially Parkerized to reduce reflection(s) in a combat survival situation. Per previous, some Parkerizing is missing from factory lube/aging/long term storage. Rounded blade has sharp factory edge. Consider blade overall excellent with exception of three minor rust spots. Heavy, approximately 7 black Bakelite handle is excellent, with two minor rubs and couple storage scratches. Handle incorporates a 4 ¾ heavy grooved guard that locks/ensures opened blade is locked, and. Handle incorporates blade guard lock release. CAREFUL WHEN OPENING OR CLOSING BLADE. Heavy leather, sheath approximately 14 1/2 OAL closed.

Heath is heavily riveted and double stitched; end has grommet with grey tie down lanyard. Heavy Snap on Dot secures flap to sheath body.
