This is a very nice original USAAF bush jacket used in the CBI (China-Burma-India) theatre. This is a British-made or maybe even Indian- made jacket, the material being Aertex which was a looser weave to allow for better ventilation in the hot tropical climates.
It has some interesting marks near the collar on the inside of the jacket. Its believed that these are individual laundry marks made by the locals when laundering the pilots uniforms. Ive seen similar marks in the same location on other CBI uniforms. The CBI patch is theatre-made, the wings are clutch back attached, and this uniform is just the way I found it.Nothing has been added or taken off. Unfortunately the belt has been lost to time.
This is an excellent example of the CBI bush jacket used by the US Army Air Force in the tropics. The item "WWII Army Air Force CBI bush jacket" is in sale since Friday, March 29, 2019.
