WW2 USAAF 8th Army Air Force Officer Uniform Jacket Pants Pilot
Jacket is named and dated 1943; pants are from 1944 (see photos). Craig Field trained single-engine aircraft pilots, so this officer was likely a fighter pilot escorting B-17s from the 8th Air Force over Europe, and brought this jacket with him to the UK. Pants are named to a different officer, but fit the jacket. Jacket has a moth bite on the collar and some light tracking on the back, but nothing too serious (see photos); pants are in excellent condition. Jacket measures 18" pit-to-pit, with 24" sleeves and 31 overall length; the waist is quite small, however, even by WW2 standards. The pants are 30" and 31" inseam, with about 1" to let out in the seat and 3" to let out in the cuffs.
