Stunning example of a real (not a reproduction) WWII US Officer's Type A-2 bomber jacket with a painted unit patch. I have no research on who Col. This is a surprisingly large jacket, please see the measurements below. US Army Air Force' is painted on left side sleeve with a beautiful MULTI-PIECE leather patch. Rank on shoulders is still nicely sewn on as well. Unit patch was painted and has deteriorated with age but looks like a large bird or dragon. Air Corps Ferrying Command Patch on opposite chest below the added leather name tag is still very clean. Leather is still supple but shows some scratches and marks but no tears.

The'Scovill Gripper' zipper with tab is all original and is still functional. Period examples do not come up for sale often and are continually rising in value and scarcity. (top center of collar to center of cuff): 36.0 inches.

Shoulder seam to top of cuff: 26.0 inches. Width (underarm to underarm): 26.0 inches.
