Vietnam Era Helicopter Pilot Body Armor Chicken Vest 1966 Army Air Force war GI

  
This is a Helicopter Pilot body armor "chicken vest" as used in the Vietnam War. It has a manufacture date of Jan 1966. There is armor plating in the front of the vest. Plating is 1 thick and I believe it might be the ceramic that was commonly used at the time. Overall, it is in very nice condition.

There are some small rips and stains as you'd expect from a used item that has been in storage. However, all the straps are present and in good condition, the hardware is all there and looking very nice with only minimal scratching, and the breast pocket looks great.
