Great condition US Military issue A11 wrist watch, made by the ELGIN NATIONAL WATCH CO. Mint condition steel case, screw on back with military particulars engraved on the back. This watch has been fully serviced and is ready to wear and enjoy! This is however a vintage/antique time piece, so no warantee is given or implied as to future performance.

Hands are beautiful and were once luminescent, however they no longer glow in the dark. There is a seconds sweeping center hand. The dial is a most pleasing black with a 24 hour chapter, and is a sterile dial with no other writing on it. This winds and sets smoothly and is a joy to wear. Research shows this was made in 1948, and after this watches were designated the United States Air Force, the US Army Air Corp having been made into what today is the US Air Force.

This has the famous Elgin 539 -16 jeweled hacking movement, a real workhorse. Measurements are: 30mm in diameter excluding the crown, 37mm from lug tip to lug tip, 16mm between the lugs.
