This type of cylinder is quite scarce. This is a much larger bottle than the more common types, about 30 from the end of the regulator to the end of the canister. The yellow paint and black stenciled text on the cylinder are excellent.
The regulator is really nice with everything intact and a great data plate. The pressure gage is in great shape. The canvas carrying case is in overall good condition, small repair on the back.
It includes the steel D-2 Cylinder, AN 6022-1 Demand Oxygen Regulator with pressure gage and the Carrying Case/Sling. The D-2 Bottle is marked BREATHING OXYGEN, NONSHATTERABLE TYPE D-2 SPEC. 94-40355, INTERNAL VOLUME 500 CUBIC INCHES, AVAILABLE OXYGEN FROM 400 TO 50 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH, PRESSURE IS 6.9 CUBIC FEET. The kahki Case is marked CYLINDER & REGULATOR ASSEMBLY-DWG. The Regulator is marked REGULATOR ASSEMBLY-DEMAND OXYGEN, AN6022-1, MF'G.0-506-1, , PERRLESS OF AMERICA, INC. It has an AF 1943 dated serial number. Each major component is marked with the WWII "AN" (Army/Navy) acceptance stamp. It appears to be operational, however I would not recommend this antique for actual use.
