Original WW2 Tan Top USAAF Officer Visor Cap with Eagle. This is an all original item as far as we can tell, and we have only one available.

It is a nice example of a World War II United States Army Air Force Officer's visor cap in very good used condition with its original chinstrap still held in place by two gilt US Army threaded buttons. It is about size 7 with a very nice visor, a clean top and a beautifully detailed, die-struck golden spread eagle. The only owner or manufacturing information in the cap is on the inside of the original pliable leather sweatband in the position next to the wearer's right eyebrow. Unfortunately, the data stamped there is difficult to read and we can't tell you what it says. On the other hand, we have taken a very good picture of it so you can give it a read.

We bought the visor cap locally in Rapid City, South Dakota years ago along with other USAAF material. Rapid City is the home of what was during World War II, the Rapid City Army Air Base, a facility that trained hundreds of B-17 bomber pilots and crews (now Ellsworth Air Force Base, a B1 bomber base).
