THE PICTURES OF THE CAMERA AND THE GI INSTALLING IT IN THE AIRCRAFT ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED. This is legitimately a rare piece of US AIr For e history. US Air Force ELECTRICALLY HEATED CAMERA COVER for K-17 Camera. Most likely introduced during WWII and used through the end of the Korean War. Picture in the listing shows camera being fitted to a converted P-38 to become the F-4 Lightning. It had been stored for decades in one of the leaky sheds in the former Smith and Edwards Army Navy surplus store yard area. Took me forever but I was able to clean it up, and then zip it up completely. So I'll leave it zipped up. Some of the rubber over the sides of the zipper has cracked.

Very unique addition to anyone's Army Air Force collection. Here's some detail about the Fairchild K-17. It was a Reconnaissance and Mapping Camera with between-the-lens shutter camera for vertical and oblique aerial photos, using 9 1/2" wide roll film for 9" x 9" images, with exchangeable cones with Bausch and Lomb Metrogon lens of 6", 12" and 24" focal length [1].
