Army Air Forces A-11 leather pilot's helmet in size medium. One of two helmets procured from a German estate sale in western Canada, the deceased owner born in Germany in the 1930's, was named Adolph after Adolph Hitler because he was born on Hitler's birthday, April 20th.

Did he himself procure the helmets from his father, an influential German at the time, or did they come into his possession long after? We don't know, but we do know that six months after the war ended his father was shot and killed on the front lawn of their family home for suspected ties to the German regime. If anything, it is certainly fascinating story to think about. Please review the photos carefully for overall condition.
