6 WWI Army Air Force Original Period Photos Aerial Biplane Pilot Vintage. 6 photos total, 2 measure 8x10, 2 measure 6x8 and two measure 4x4.5 (measurements within 1/8 or so). All are fully glued down to the black photo album paper.
I have no other information about these than what you see written on the Post-it note. It reads Photos of Harold Hortung's Army Air Force Camp During WWI in So. The two 6x8 photos are signed A. , I take these to be official army photos (APS might stand for Air Photo Service, or Aerial Photo Service or even Army Photo service or something else entirely).
Both of those photos are professionally taken photos with great contrast and good focus (both are period gelatin silver actual photos). The two 8x10 photos look like they were enlarged from a smaller negative, both lack the clarity and sharpness of the 6x8 photos. The photo of the muddy camp is on the verge of being out of focus (but is likely just enlarged from a small neg). The 8x10 showing the two pilots in the plane looks better, it doesn't have that crisp sharpness of a professional photo but it is also not blurry. The two smaller photos, both aerial shots of what I take to be possibly the army base mentioned on the post-it, they are both the same location as far as I can tell but I couldn't find anything that matched the layout (I didn't look that hard). All of the black photo album pages are blank on the back (nothing is written nor are there signs of anything having been attached). See photos for condition details. -- I don't have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
