Top of shoulder to wrist is 25. Across the back is 22. Height is 32" to neck and the hood is 12". The hood has a belt to the back to adjust the visor.
The wrap around throat guard buttons around the back to store out of the way when not in use. The shoulder boards epaulets are fully functional and not just decorative. It has two vertical chest pockets that measure 10" x 7" and two waist pockets 8" x 9". All 4 pockets have wind flaps. The cuffs adjust with a little belt and strap.19 solid brass main zipper. The zipper rides kind of high so one can access a utility belt. It has a front button up wind flap covering the zipper and there is one 1 button missing. Coat is fully lined in synthetic fur. But the dark brown hood fur is real sheepskin. Missing button, the stitching just fell out so there was no tears. The hanger loop to neck has the stitching come off one side- no tears.
Under the arm has satin bellows and the stitching has come undone, but no tears. There is some small holes and normal wear to the cuffs. It has been military issued and used.
The shoulder sleeve has a printed AAF patch and it is pretty faint. It is clear enough to identify.It is a 2.5 shield. With the typical white wings, red dot, and blue background.
It says Army Air Forces in white lettering underneath. This is a neutral ID with no specific numerical unit. Makers tag is silk and says Type B-11 MilSpec Info Albert Turner and Co. Property Air Forces US Army.Coat is a poly/cotton blend. Good for dry powder and not so good for wet and rain. Better as a bomber pilot jacket instead of the working in the storm jacket.
No stained and non-smoker owned. Just smells like an old jacket sitting in grandpas closet for a long time. As nice as one can find in these true vintages anymore. Looks to be 7 weeks old instead of 76 years old.Very warm and works 100% as it should. Not a fragile item so you can wear it around and stay warm this winter.
