It is constructed of enlisted mans quality OD brown wool and complete with all the brown plastic buttons. Pinned to the lapels are two clutch back wing and prop collar disks. Sewn to the upper left shoulder is an U. Made 8th Air Force patch. To the lower cuff id sewn four overseas bars representing at least two years overseas service.Below the overseas bars is a 3-year service hash mark. Sewn to each sleeve is a Master Sergeants chevron embroidered in OD green cotton thread on a black wool background. The jacket is with two hidden breast pockets and two slash type pockets at the sides. At the bottom of the jacket, on each side, is a buttoned adjustment tab and two buttons. The interior is lined with brown polished cotton. Sewn in the neck area is a black spec tag with gold embroidered letters that reads, JACKET, ENLISTED MENS, FLIGHT TYPE B-14 SPECIFICATION NO. 3216 SIZE 38 STOCK NO. ARMY Stenciled in black ink below this tag is the laundry number, L 5550. There are two very small holes in the jacket, one in the lower left sleeve and one at the lower left side, that have been sewn closed with OD cotton thread and which are contemporary repairs made by the original owner. This is an exceptional example of a tough to find Army Air Corps jacket and one that remains in excellent condition.
