WWII IDd Fixed Bale Helmet of MIA presumed deceased Army Air Forces P-47 Pilot J. The chinstraps are originals but resewn to the shell for display purposes. The liner and components are also original WWII production but I do not believe they were original to the helmet. It comes with some paperwork that was with the helmet when I bought it including an account from the family. Lyles was a P-47 pilot in the South Pacific for the 463rd Fighter Squadron 507th Fighter Group.Lyles went missing in vacinitu of the Eniwetok Atoll on 20 May 1945.
