Paul, MN who flew a P-47 Thunderbolt in over 80 missions in Germany, Italy and France in WWII, was later called up for Korea, and served subsequently in the Air National Guard. This bag is labeled DWG No.

40K3719, W535 AC27722, Hinson Manufacturing Company. It measures 25" wide, 18" tall and about 8 deep at the bottom.

It is constructed out of a heavy duty canvas, probably oil/tin cloth treated to be water resistant. Brown leather handle, leather piping and top trim.

Some wear to the leather handle. Damage in several places to the canvas, particularly on the back outer pocket as seen. Leather damage to the edge piping, particularly on the back toward the bottom.

One of the metal "feet" is missing on the bottom. Overall, the bag is a great period example of the style, heavily used in a lengthy service record in the WWII European theater. A great piece of history, and an item that is quickly becoming scarce.
