The type B-6 helmet was standardized for Army Air Force use in September 1941 and was widely used around the world. The black labels with white letters sewed into the flight helmet inside show it is a LARGE size TYPE B-6 made from DRAWING NO 42G6431 on AAF ORDER No.
42-17986-P and is PROPERTY AIR FORCES U. It also has an AN stamp on the inside of the chin strap where it is sewed to the helmet. The B-6 helmet was replaced in 1943, so examples anywhere as near as nice as this one, and in a LARGE size are very collectible.
