1948 US Army and Air Force Exchange Service AAFES AES License Plate USAF
This item is a repaint. The heavy gauge of the steel as well as the font style is very similar to Maryland non passenger license plates of the era.
Today the AAFES is based in Dallas Texas. After the creation of the US Air Force in 1947, the name was updated to include that branch of the military. Size is 13 inches long by 6 1/8 inches high.
